The Golf Club really does a really great job of throwing parties. Their food is top notch, and the event planning is beyond just the expected. They do a lot of fun things to really engage everyone. This was definitely true of the Santa Brunch! We arrived at 10:00am, and only left at 11:30 because we had to get to ballet class. The girls definitely would have stayed longer if we could have.
I took a few pictures at home just in case lighting was weird there (it was). Both dresses are from Target. I looked around a bit, but Target had the best selection for the best prices. I thought for a second they were going to both pick the same dress again this year, but then Delaney found the long navy gown and that was that. Not sure if you can see, but they both have little ankle boots (also from Target). Delaney’s are navy, and Caden has black glitter. Goodness they were both adorable.
Holiday dresses are always sleeveless which doesn’t work the best here. Luckily, we had cardigans that matched perfectly. And hey! Delaney let me do her hair! She was very specific about wanting two braids that met in the back. Astonishingly, I did them perfectly and they met right in the middle of her head. I thought for sure they would be wonky and I would need to redo them but no!
Caden was done with pictures fairly quickly, but Delaney indulged me a bit.
After they showed us to our table, we headed into the big ballroom to check out the crafts. They had sugar cookies to decorate, Christmas ornaments to make, and little boxes you could put everything in. Normally cookies like this don’t taste good, but I was told by multiple people that they were very good! Delaney decorated hers and put it in a box – To: Delaney From: Delaney. Caden made one for Santa but just couldn’t wait, and ate it in the car on the way to ballet.
Brunch was buffet style. We loaded up on bacon (obviously), ham, scrambled eggs, and hashbrowns. I had them make me an omelette as well. And then we hit the dessert bar. Delaney did not love her cake pop, but the macarons were fabulous! I had three. The girls also had hot chocolate with real whip cream and chocolate shavings. Caden said it was the best hot chocolate she’s ever had.
I asked one of the elves to take our picture in front of the tree. They turned down the lights shortly after the event started (WHY?!) so the lighting wasn’t the best, but I’ll take it!
And one more because my hair was looking fabulous and that doesn’t happen every day.
Santa and Mrs. Claus were amazing. The girls only agreed to do it because they didn’t have to sit on his lap, they could just stand next to him and talk. He talked a lot about giving, which I loved, and talked to them about things they could do that didn’t cost any money. Because there wasn’t a line when we were talking to him, he took his time and chatted with them. They’ve never been willing to do the Santa thing before, so I was really glad this was such a good interaction.
