The Munchkins

Life with identical twins

Weekly Menu Plan 6/10/12 – 6/16/12

Here’s our gluten free weekly menu plan. With things getting crazy and the weather warming up, I’m definitely going into summer cooking mode. More meals that make for good leftovers, and more meals that require little to no cooking.

Sunday - Spicy Honey Chicken over mango and avocado. This was good, although not fabulous. We’ll definitely make it again. The highlight of the meal was the mango. I forget how much my girls love mango!

Monday – Dinner Out

Tuesday – Chicken Bacon Pineapple Kabobs

Wednesday – Quesadillas

Thursday – Grilled Veggies. We get our first CSA box this week, so I’m hoping to be able to do something easy with it!

Friday – Something easy?

Saturday – Birthday Party

No rest for the weary

Oh people. I’ve written three different paragraphs here and deleted them all. Perhaps bullets and some pictures?

We headed to the lake this weekend and had a blast. It was nice to have some heat to go along with the water, and it was so fun to see how much the girls have progressed with their swimming. My girls absolutely crave male interaction right now, so some solid time with their grampy was needed.

This one had quite the weekend. She caught her first fish! A 6.5 inch sunfish, caught off the docks for the kids fishing event. She was so proud! Both girls also got a bunch of fishing tackle to kick off their fishing careers. The downside of the weekend was when she fell off the back of the golf cart. She falls all the time, so I can generally gauge the injury by her cry and this cry scared the @#$! out of me. She was crying so hard no sound came out. I scooped her up, got her in the cabin and put ice on her head as quickly as I could. It was a full 30 minutes before she wanted off my lap, another 30 before she started really talking again. She took a 2.5 hour nap Sunday afternoon, wherein I checked her breathing every 15 minutes. She was a little off last night, but better after some oatmeal. Today she has her two hour appointment with the allergist, complete with allergy scratch test so the fun never ends for her. Oh the joy.

This kid was in her glory all weekend, right up until I put guacamole and steak in her lunch taco and she lost. her. marbles. All we could do was laugh because she was so clearly overtired. I scraped the guac off, but luckily for her, my mom made her a new taco. At least she’s obvious about things.

This week is going to be crazy. It’s the kind of week where I will have to be on top of my game at every step. The organization aspect of things I’m not worried about, it’s what I do. But the social part? I need my quiet alone time, and that may be scarce this week.
